At least once a week I browse through my old journals just to see the ideas I thought were important. Sometimes, I find quotes from people that I believe are worth sitting with again and I post them in this blog/journal for easier retrieval. Today is such a day.

I’ll post some of the quotes I found today. Some have direct attribution and others are a head nod in a certain direction. Either way, I thought they were worth a sit-down and a meditation. Here are some of the ones I found:

“Do something for no other reason than you would rather not do it at all.” – William James

“To live in conformity with what I believe, in spite of what I feel isn’t hypocrisy, it’s integrity.” – Erik Thoennes

“There’s a difference between being a leader and being in charge. Anybody can be in charge not anybody can be a leader.” – military concept on leadership

“Affirmation without discipline leads to delusion.” – Jim Rohn

“You don’t get frustrated with things you haven’t invested in. Wherever there is investment there is frustration because investment creates expectation.” – TD Jakes

“Education and growth is a life decision not a schooling one.” – Mentors over time

“In the adult world there are no medals for omniscience.” – Grace Nutley

“An honest man is hurt by praise unjustly bestowed.” – French saying

“In all debates, let truth be thy aim, and endeavor to gain rather than expose thy opponent.” – paraphrase of William Penn

“What we do not understand we do not possess.”Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Ideas when meditated on, begins to help shape how we see the world. Notice i said “begins”. Sit with these. Throw away those you think are horrible and rumble with those that challenge you in a good way or opens recognition of a present issue in your heart.

Talk about ideas.

Be Blessed. Push Forward

But…. This is not […]

I never thought that this process would have opened up the amount of deep conversations I’ve had with friends and colleagues because of what they’ve read in these posts. Mile 137: (Question 2) Dealing with the rising emotions from the murder of George Floyd: a performance psychology strategy perspective.

I’ve gotten to speak with some friends, pastors and business folk about their pov and listened to some podcasts. I’m trying to get different vantage points so I […]
