This Black History month, I’d like to highlight an old conversation that has never left the African-American community – what has Christianity/Kingdom Of God done for/to black people?
My hope is to capture the conversation through this piece of poetry, titled ‘Strange Fruit’.
Strange fruit hangs from this treeTweet
poetically it’s you and me
what do we have within to give?
if taken, will it cause to live?
Strange fruit in deed
Strange fruit, where do you lead?
Share this with the folk you can sip tea and have deep conversations with. Find the povs embedded. How do you interpret it?
